Product Description

This compound CAS No. 7697-46-3 is an intermediate of NSAID called Ketorolac, which can be found in various forms such as oral tablets, injections, nasal sprays, and eye drops.

Structure of Ketorolac, CAS No. 74103-06-3

Structure of Ketorolac

Due to its pain-relieving qualities, ketorolac serves as an effective instrument for managing pain in numerous scenarios, including pain following surgery, chronic conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, menstrual discomforts, different types of headaches, as well as pain associated with the spine, soft tissues, and ankylosing spondylitis. Notably, ketorolac's effectiveness is comparable to that of conventional doses of opioids like morphine and meperidine, which makes it a valuable alternative to opioids for pain management.

Although Ketorolac is an old drug marketed since early 90s, but innovations have been continued. For example, a complex formulation was developed by Omeros Corporation and then sold to and labeled by Rayner Surgical for Ophthalmological use with the trade name Omidria, which was approved by the FDA in 2023 with pediatric extension.

In addition, it is a starting material for porphyrin synthesis.
